Day 16 marked our last full day in Greece, and our last bit of time in Santorini. There was nothing planned for us on this day, so everyone in the group went their separate ways to get whatever they wanted to done. My mom and I decided to walk the trail from Fira to Oia since we had quite a bit of time before our flight (yes, FLIGHT!) back to Athens.
Since it was pretty cloudy this day, it helped us get ready to go back to Athens, but it didn’t distract from the beauty of the island. We got about halfway to Oia and then decided to turn back in order to get some food. Here are some photos from the walk:
We had lunch at a place called Galini Cafe which overlooked the caldera. I had a tomato, feta, olive, and lettuce wrap and mom had a crêpe with turkey, feta, and tomatoes. It was delicious and the restaurant itself was very cute.

After that, we headed back to the hotel to get ready to leave. Our group got to the airport so early that they didn’t even let us inside! The good news though was that we were able to catch up with everything we had missed that weekend on the airport-provided wifi. When we were allowed in, everything went without a hitch, and we were back in Athens within 30 minutes. That night, we packed everything up and got ready to leave Greece for good. It was bittersweet because we loved everything we saw in Greece, but after 16 days, we were ready to be back home.
The next morning we go to the airport, said goodbye to our tour director and fellow travelers, and got on the flight to get back home.

And that concludes my travels in Greece! I hope you enjoyed reading about everything we saw and did while we were there. Leave any questions you have in the comments, and I’ll answer them as soon as I can. If you’re planning a trip to Greece, you’re going to have a great time and eat a lot of amazing food. I’m jealous of you. Can I come in your suitcase?
Until next time,
