In case you have not been told yet, I am going to be embarking on a ten day journey with my dad to Peru for spring break! This will definitely be one for the books because we will be hitting up Cusco, Machu Picchu, as well as the Peruvian Amazon. I am beyond excited to get going, but first I have to finish this quarter at school and take some finals……. But ignoring all of that, I am beyond ready to get on a plane and start traveling again.
I have not had much time to research the things that we are going to be seeing while we are in Peru, but I am hoping that I will have a few hours this weekend to enlighten myself on what I am getting into and what I will be seeing. I had a brief chat with some of my friends who went to Peru on various types of trips and they all assured me that it will be extremely fun, but to remember to get all of my vaccinations as well as bring along some altitude sickness pills. Sounds a little daunting, but I figure that I probably will not be eating fried Guinea Pig on the trail up to Machu Picchu (yes, that is something people do), so I should be okay in terms of getting sick while I am there.
I will keep you all updated on my travels, hopefully while I am there, but given that I do not know the internet situation or even how much time we are going to have in between seeing awesome sights, I cannot promise anything. However, do not fear! As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I am writing for a blog called College Tourist. This past week, they posted another one of my articles. This article about traveling by yourself and all of the great things you can learn about your surroundings, but also yourself. Check it out by clicking here. If we are Facebook friends, then you probably already saw it, but if not, please take a look! Hopefully I will be able to get a bunch of traffic to my blog posts and maybe one day I will even be PAID. **Dreaming big**
Look for another update soon!
